Preparation for the Nursery

We're now 25 weeks along and with just over three months to prepare it's time to start putting together Little Man's nursery.

A little over a week ago (Sunday - September 24th) we decided to take our first steps to do just that. First we decided to store the antique bed we received as a wedding gift from Bryan's parents. My folks were in town visiting so we thought it would be the perfect time to accomplish this task with the extra set of hands. Needless to say things did not go as smoothly as hoped. I received an unusual call from Bryan while I was out grocery shopping asking for a ride to the hospital. At first I thought Bryan had dipped into a six pack of beer on a Sunday afternoon (which isn't typical of Bryan) but instead quickly realized he was in shock. Come to find out he fell nine feet off of a ladder onto the concrete floor in the shop, mostly onto his back and hip.... breaking his arm and leaving him with some beautiful bruises. (must insert here that he was successful in storing the box springs and mattress by this time already). We took him immediately to the emergency room where he proceeded to tell the charge nurse that "his water broke". This was his new favorite joke- hence he was holding a melted bag of ice on his hurt arm and it was now leaking. Four hours later he sported a temporary cast, some pain medicine and a new hotwheel (a sicky gift). Just yesterday he received his permanent cast (in sexy black). He's adjusting to being a one-armed gimp and between the two of us....we're both now temporarily disabled. While I wish he would have waited for our assistance in putting the bed in the loft, we feel truly blessed once again that all he received was a broken arm.

So, the nursery progresses.....
