That's right, Sean and I have been "testing" cloth diapers for the past few weeks. Two of my friends (Cassie and Erin) have been cloth diapering with success so I decided to try it out too. I'm not afraid of a little hard work and the idea of saving our landfills from oodles of poopy petroleum laden diapers sounded good to me. So, we're in the last week of our trial from Jillian's Drawers. They have a program where you put down a desposit then try several different types of diapers for 21 days and then return them for your deposit minus $10 or so. The verdict....not only do we like cloth diapering, we like ALL of the types that were sent to us. Don't get me wrong, we'll still do disposable from time -to-time, but for the most part we're planning to stick with cloth. Diapers are not like they used to be when my mom was diapering us (we've all seen the look our moms give us when we even discuss cloth diapering....ARE YOU CRAZY?). The dipes now adays are SO easy, they're just like disposables...only you wash them. Anywho, we're excited to be building our stash and I think I'll be sewing some more too so stay tuned for pictures!
Secondly, Sean did the most amazing thing this past week. He said "please" AND it was unprompted. YAY! Of course it's more like "peasth" but we get the picture. One more quick story....Sean loves the book "Wheels on the Bus" by Paul O Zelinsky . It has tabs that you pull to move the doors open and shut, etc. There's a page that has babies who are saying "wah wah wah". When we got to this page (now mind you this isn't the first time we've read the book together) he looks at the babies and then looks at me and gets that "I'm going to bust out crying" look. So I tell him it's okay and that the mommies are all on the bus with the babies too. For the rest of the night he continues to find the book, open it to the page and say "baby" with big ole' crocodile tears in his eyes. Bryan and I could hardly keep from getting choked up. I finally distracted him and we set the book out of reach for a while. THIS coming from our motorcycle lovin little dude. He's a sensitive little guy at times.
Here's a picture of his first "cheese"
and his favorite summer hobby.

YAY!! I'm so glad you love the cloth. We just got 20 new Fuzzi Bunz and I'm loving them (and found a KILLER deal on some seconds).
Hope the cloth works out long term... that's very "green" of you.
Glad to hear it isnt as bad as some may think.
